After revealing a new coffee cup tattoo she got in honor of her grandmother, Lea showed off the ink she got for Cory.
2013, just months after his death, she wore a cutout dress that showed the words “if you say so” written on her ribcage.
Later, she confirmed that these were the last words Cory said to her during a phone conversation before he died, and she wrote a song with the same title for her 2014 album, for three years together, Lea and Cory finally started dating in early 2012, and were together up until the time of his death a year and a half later.
The actor was just 31-years-old when he was found dead of a drug overdose in his Vancouver hotel room on July 13, 2013.
Meanwhile, Lea began dating Matthew Paetz after meeting him on her music video set in mid-2014, but they broke up out of nowhere in Februrary, and the 29-year-old was completely blindsided by it.
“She was hoping for a proposal,” an insider told Hollywood EXCLUSIVELY.
At this time the cause of the actor’s death is yet to be determined and no foul play is suspected, however Cory was always very open about his struggle with substance abuse and began his second stint in rehab in March 2013 — and his devoted girlfriend bravely stood by his side during the difficult time, saying, “I love and support Cory and will stand by him through this,” she told .
“I am grateful and proud he made this decision.” It’s clear that one of the people he was closest to, his loving girlfriend, had no idea that he might still be struggling with this addiction.
In fact just last week Lea took a quick girls trip to Cabo San Lucas, to celebrate the birthday of her friend and jewelry designer Jennifer Cohen.
The gal seemed so happy and carefree while having fun in the sun, snapping pics of her pedicure and sharing a slew of bikini pics on Instagram.
