March 20th – Brathay Belter Sportive at Brathay Hall This is a new sportive event to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Brathay Trust. April 16 - 17th – Introduction to Rock Climbing at the More than Mountains This is the first of a series of courses based in the stunning scenery of the Langdale Valley for single pitch rock climbing for beginners.
The course will be a 70 kilometre signed and well marshalled course via Coniston, Esthwaite Water, and Windermere April 15th – Lake and Landscape Tour at Wray Castle On this date, and every Friday until and including May 27th, there will be a guided walk through the grounds of Wray Castle. All equipment will be provided FREE of charge including specialist climbing shoes.
May 17th – The South Tyne Trail Walk An 11 mile walk classed as “moderate difficulty” from Haltwhistle to Alston along the South Tyne Trail.
Meet at 2pm at the Cumberland Inn in Alston prior to catching the bus to Haltwhistle.
June 21st – Whitfield Lough Walk A strenuous walk of about 8 miles along paths and open moorland. June 19th – Alston Sheepdog Trials Held on the Playing Fields in Alston.Meet at Linthey Car Park at 9.45am for a 10am start.
