All I am trying to do is write "DOB" in cell D2 in an excel sheet.
I tried using SQL COMMAND in the Execute SQL Task componenet to do the UPDATE of the 1 cell but kept getting error messages. SSIS came back with an error saying it was expecting at least 1 paramater...
Also, I have only seen the Openrowset property on the excel destionation and excel source components and I did not want to Import the string "DOB" into the cell, I just wanted to write it to the cell.
I like how I can just use the 1 SQL Task component and use 1 line of code to get my desired results.
I will probably use the Openrowset for a more complex scenario during import with multiple coloumns.
The BI Monkey SSIS ETL Framework is an ETL Execution, Control and Logging system for ETL projects using SSIS. It is created by James Beresford, SSIS & MS BI Blogger at project is released as the v1 framework for SQL2005+.
The v1 framework is simple and suited to smaller deployments.
The v1 release currently is in Beta and is ready to use.
It remains in Beta purely because the reporting side is not complete at this point.
The v2 version is now unlikely to be released on codeplex and will only be available in a commercial form.
A commercially supported version is now available at for SQL2012+ in versions equivalent to v1 and v2.
